CONTEST RULES and REGULATIONS
“Intel Core I7 contest”
1. Object
The Company UBISOFT ENTERTAINMENT SA, with its commercial address located at 28, rue Armand Carrel, 93108 Montreuil-sous-Bois Cedex, (here-after referred to as “UBISOFT”) is organizing a contest for the game Far Cry® 2 for PC format and the Intel® Core™ I7 PC processor, called “Intel Core I7 Contest”, available at the internet address: http://intelcorei7.ubi.com.
2. Definitions
“Contest”: means the contest co-organised by UBISOFT and INTEL on Far Cry® 2 video game in PC formats and Intel® Core™ I7 PC processor.
“Video Game”: means the Far Cry® 2 video game in PC formats, made and distributed by UBISOFT and belonging to UBISOFT.
“Contest Page”: means the contest web page, available at the Internet address: http://intelcorei7.ubi.com and found on the site registered and managed by UBISOFT.
3. Conditions of participation
Participation in this contest is open to all physical persons over 18 years old residing in the participating countries, excluding any person who has participated in the organization of the contest or UBISOFT employees, employees of any subsidiaries of UBISOFT, any company which has any stake in UBISOFT or is jointly owned by UBISOFT, as well as their families (same name, same address).
Contest participants must have and be able to use an Internet connection, and should be aware that some prizes will only be available through download.
Access to this Contest is limited to one participation per household (same name, same address), and per person, regardless of the number of e-mail addresses they may have, for the whole duration of the contest.
In the case of multiple entries, in particular through the use of several e-mail addresses, the participant will be excluded from the contest.
4. Participating Countries
The contest will be run in the following countries: United-States, United-Kingdom, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands, Australia, New-Zealand and Canada.
5. Terms of the Contest
The Contest will begin on December 1st, 2008 at 00:01AM and will end on December 30th, 2008 at 23:59PM (Metropolitan France Time Zone), the time of entry will be determined by the date and time of UBISOFT’s receipt of the electronic submissions, as recorded by its IT systems.
Participants will be able to obtain all the tools and information necessary to sign up and participate on the Contest Page. The “Contest” page will be available at least throughout the time of the Contest, unless there are technical difficulties.
Participants need to login or register as ubi.com members on the Contest page to participate to the contest.
UBISOFT reserves the right to refuse any submissions that do not follow the procedure. In this case, the participant will be informed by email, without any engagement on the part of UBISOFT.
6. Designating the Winners
The winners of the Contest will be selected through a specific mechanism.
Daily Prizes:
Each day, 50 Far Cry® 2 PC games and 1 Intel® Core™ I7-965 processor Extreme Edition are made available.
51 winners are randomly chosen each day, within the hi-scores of the day. The hi-score is based on the number of correct answers.
The random hi-score selection will be made for each day, within one week, during 30 days.
The Daily Prizes list is detailed in the Contest winners’ prize attribution section.
The ubi.com logins of the winners will be available at the address http://intelcorei7.ubi.com, starting December 1st.
The winner will also be personally informed, starting January 12th, by an email sent to the email address they will have supplied at the time of their entry into the Contest.
7. Contest winners prize attribution
The participants can win amongst the following prizes:
1500 Far Cry® 2 PC games – €49,90
30 Intel® Core™ I7 processor - €1000,00
8. Conditions of Attribution
Before the prize is given, the winner must fulfill the conditions defined in the Regulations.
Winning the prize may, in no way, lead to the winner’s disputing any of the terms, nor to a request for its equal value in cash, or its exchange or replacement for any reason whatsoever.
9. Contest Regulations
The Contest Regulations are available on the Contest Page. The complete Contest Regulations will be sent, free of charge, to any persons, upon written request to: UBISOFT ENTERTAINMENT SA, Jeu-Concours 28, rue Armand Carrel, 93108 Montreuil-sous-Bois Cedex - France, under the condition that said request mentions the name of the Contest, and the first name, surname and address of the person making the request. The postal costs for the request will be reimbursed at the basic postal tariff at the time of the request, upon specific request (one request per household, same name, same address). The request for reimbursement of postal costs must be accompanied by the person’s bank details, since the payment will be made by bank transfer.
UBISOFT reserves the right, if circumstances require it, to postpone, modify or cancel the present Contest, to modify the period of participation, and to immediately take decisions, which will be final, regarding any difficulties that may arise during the Contest. UBISOFT is not liable or responsible if, as a result of an unpredictable and unavoidable event, exterior to UBISOFT, the conditions of the present Regulations are not met, in whole or in part.
10. Protection of Privacy
The information provided in the Contest will only be used by UBISOFT. UBISOFT informs participants that the personal information given in the Contest is automatically processed and is filed electronically. UBISOFT reserves the right to use the information.
Winning participants authorize UBISOFT, free of cost, to freely use their name and e-mail address, in the context of any operations regarding the Contest and/or publication of the results, in any medium, for a period of three (3) months
In conformity with the “Loi Informatique et Liberté, of January 6th, 1978”, relating to data processing, files and personal freedom and privacy, participants will have access to and the right to modify the contents of the file containing their personal information, upon request. They may oppose the use of their contact information for publicity or promotional purposes by writing to the following address: UBISOFT ENTERTAINMENT SA, 28, rue Armand Carrel, 93108 Montreuil-sous-Bois Cedex.
11. Reimbursement of Connection Costs
Internet connection costs, as well as stamp costs for the request, will be reimbursed, upon the request of any participant, based upon the conditions below. This request may only be made by post, within the seventy-two (72) hours following the participant’s entry into the Contest, the time of sending being determined by the post office’s dated stamp, and must be sent to the following address: UBISOFT ENTERTAINMENT 28, rue Armand Carrel, 93108 Montreuil-sous-Bois Cedex.
In order to be considered, the request must be made on a sheet of loose paper, indicating the Contest name, the first name and surname of the participant their e-mail address and their postal address, as well as the date and time of connection. The request for reimbursement of postal costs must be accompanied by the person’s bank details, since the payment will be made by bank transfer. Postal costs will be based on the basic “letter” tariff at the time of the request.
Only one reimbursement will be given per household (same name, same address) throughout the length of the Contest. All requests with incorrect, incomplete or illegible contact details will not be dealt with and UBISOFT will not be held responsible.
Connection costs and the postal costs for this request, will be reimbursed under the following terms:
- internet connection costs: reimbursement based on a five (5) minute connection, with a flat rate of € 0.12 for the first minute, then € 0.02, for each additional minute, or five (5) minutes at € 0.20.
It is agreed that all access carried out using a subscription-based, unlimited connection (cable, DSL…) will not be reimbursed, since the subscription is contracted by the user for their general internet use, the comfort that they enjoy, and the fact that signing up for the Contest does not incur any additional charges.
The request for reimbursement must be accompanied by a signed certificate, declaring that the participant does not have a subscription, giving them unlimited internet access.

The reimbursement will be made within four (4) weeks from UBISOFT’s receipt of the request.
12. Limitation Of Ubisoft’s Liability
Participation in the Contest implies the knowledge of and acceptance of the characteristics and limitations of the internet, more particularly as concerns its technical capabilities, the time needed for the consultation, interrogation or transfer of information, the risk of interruption and, more generally, the risks inherent in any connection and transmission on the Internet, the lack of protection against the misappropriation of data and the risk of contamination by a virus on the web.
Therefore, UBISOFT may, under no circumstances, be held liable for any of the following (the following list is not exhaustive):
the transmission and/or the receipt of any data and/or information on the Internet;
any Internet network malfunction, preventing the Contest from properly functioning;
the failure of any reception or communication materials or lines;
the loss of any e-mail and, more generally, the loss of any data;
any transfer problems;
the functioning of any software;
the result of any virus, computer bug, anomaly or technical failure;
any damage caused to the participant’s computer;
any technical, material and software failure, of any type, which may have prevented or limited the participation in the Contest or damaged the participant’s information or computer system.
13. Applicable law and competent courts
The Contest is governed by French Law and will be submitted to the competent French jurisdiction, in application of the rules of the New Civil Procedure Code. Participation in the Contest also implies the acceptance, without reservation, of the present Regulations, in their entirety, of the current rules of ethics on the Internet, as well as the laws, regulations and other applicable texts in France.
